Post-Secondary Financial Support

The Education and Employment sector administers the Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET) program.

The ISET program provides us the ability to support individuals with the following:

Education Sponsorship (up to two years tuition, books, living allowance)
Industry Short-Term Occupational Certificates (OFA, WHMIS, etc.)
Job Start Supports for individuals that have an immediate employment opportunity
Summer Student Program
Wage Subsidies
Employment Counselling
Resume and Cover Letter Support

The ISET Education Sponsorship is designed to provide opportunities to build capacity for Indigenous people to secure meaningful employment.

This Education Sponsorship can provide eligible students for up to two years with fully funded tuition, books, fees, as well as a living allowance for those in full-time studies.

Eligible individuals are:

First Nations
Status or non-status
Living on or off reserve within ʔamakʔis Ktunaxa
Minimum 15 years of age
Unemployed or underemployed and/or face multiple barriers to employment and training Accepted into a program at an institution that is on “The Master List of Designated Educational Institutions” https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/programs/designated-schools.html

*ISET funding is considered last-resort funding, so there is a requirement to seek out other funding sources such as Band Sponsorship, Work BC, or other available programs first. We will assist you with that.
